Just a few of the men and women who are important to Lake Cherokee shareholders

Wall of Honor

The Wall consists of 14 panels each holding 9 names of Veterans who are important to Lake Cherokee shareholders. Under each name is their branch of service and period of service. All information was confirmed with DD214s, Veterans ID, official documents, and in two cases, multiple photos and letters (World War I). Families are kept together. Other than that, there is no organization.

After 126 names were confirmed, a waitlist started. One family that had 8 names chose to move all 8 names onto their own bench (to be installed Spring 2026). This opened up 8 spots which were filled instantly. As of Spring 2026, we have 30 names on a waitlist for a future wall and the waitlist grows as more shareholders discover Freedom Park. FFP is currently designing a second wall that keeps with the idea of the first wall but is distinct. More will come. If you would like to add your Veteran to the waitlist for this second wall, please contact us here.

Waitlist

The Wall of Honor could only hold 126 names of Veterans. We are working on new ways for shareholders to honor their Veterans.

If you are interested in honoring or memorializing your Veteran at Freedom Park, please complete this form to be added to our Waitlist.

Once we have a plan for a new monument for names, we will contact you with details on how to make this happen. There will be several times when you will need to “proof” your Veteran’s name and information, so make sure you leave good contact numbers/emails.
