Veterans Community Picnic

Join Lake Cherokee neighbors and fellow Veterans for a casual picnic hosted by Friends of Freedom Park.

Burgers donated by Sysco and expertly grilled by Thomas White and Kim Heath. Chips and bottled water donated by FFP.

Meet Steven Grayhm, the writer/director of the SHEEPDOG movie before the scheduled screening at 2pm. Steven is a strong supporter of Veterans’ mental health and researched this subject for 12 years by interviewing Veterans and Social Workers.

Meet Will Summers, retired Green Beret who was involved in the mission made famous in the movie “12 Strong”. Will is a Friend of Freedom Park and has ties to Lake Cherokee. Will is our moderator for the Q&A following the SHEEPDOG movie.

Meet other Friends of Freedom Park and maybe even join us as we plan future events and activities at Freedom Park.
